ONLINE and SUMMER EFL TEACHER – Teach with MLA year-round

Join MLA online – and continue the journey with your students in person in summer

At Move Language Ahead (MLA), we build long-term relationships with our teachers, not just individual courses. Our year-round Get Ready programme allows you to start teaching students online before they travel, then continue their journey with them in person at our summer schools in the UK or USA.

MLA provides high-quality English language and educational programmes for students aged 11–18, welcoming thousands of learners from around the world each year. Our programmes combine English language learning with activities, excursions and cultural experiences at destinations across the UK and USA.

As an MLA teacher, you can benefit from:

  • A fixed online timetable and guaranteed teaching hours
  • A full-time summer position with competitive rates and all meals and accommodation included for residential staff
  • Paid training and ongoing professional development
  • Opportunities to develop academic management experience

What makes MLA different is that the student experience starts up to eight months before departure, with online Get Ready lessons. We are looking for teachers who want to be part of that journey and build meaningful, continuous relationships with their students.

Please note: Candidates who are interested and eligible to join one of our summer centres in summer 2027, particularly those with experience teaching Cambridge examination classes, will be given priority consideration.

Teachers MUST be available Monday to Friday from 15.30 to 20.00 CET (Central European Time). Unfortunately, we don't have any part time positions available.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Online teachers will be assigned to one of our three programmes: General English, Cambridge Exam Preparation or Work Skills, according to their experience and the needs of the programme.

Cambridge Exam Preparation

Deliver online English lessons through Zoom and MLA's dedicated teaching platform, preparing students for:

  • A2 Key for Schools
  • B1 Preliminary for Schools
  • B2 First for Schools
  • C1 Advanced

Lessons focus on examination skills, strategies and language development using Cambridge One and Cambridge University Press materials.

Students are aged between 11 and 18 with a maximum of 15 students per class.

Work Skills

Deliver live online English lessons through Zoom and MLA’s dedicated teaching platform, helping students develop practical communication skills for future study and working life.

Using MLA’s Work Skills books, comprehensive lesson plans and a task-based approach, teachers guide students through collaborative projects, role-plays, debates and presentations.

Activities include creating professional profiles, pitching inventions, designing apps, evaluating online information and finding solutions to business problems. Lessons develop students’ confidence in English alongside teamwork, critical thinking, creativity and cultural awareness.

Teachers encourage active participation, support students in expressing and justifying their ideas, and provide feedback on both language use and communication skills.

Students are grouped according to age and English level (CEFR B1–C1), with a maximum of 15 students per class. Students are aged between 14 and 18.

General English

Deliver online English lessons through Zoom and MLA's dedicated teaching platform using the MLA Task-Based Learning syllabus.

Our syllabus has been designed in-house specifically for MLA students and is supported by comprehensive lesson plans and materials, significantly reducing teachers' preparation time while allowing scope for teachers to adapt lessons to the needs of their students.

Students are grouped according to age and English level (CEFR A1–C1), with a maximum of 15 students per class. Students are aged between 11 and 18.

WORKING HOURS

Teachers must be available Monday to Friday from 15:30 to 20:00 Italian local time (CET/CEST).

Some timetable slots may be allocated as standby sessions. During these periods, teachers are required to remain available and contactable and must be prepared to cover an online lesson at short notice if required. When cover is not required, the time can be used for lesson preparation and other teaching-related tasks.

Teachers are paid at the same hourly rate for teaching, standby sessions and the three 10-minute breaks scheduled during each working afternoon.

The online programme runs from 23 November 2026 to 9 June 2027.

Several hours of paid training will take place between 12 and 19 November 2026.
